This Thursday, July 10, 2014, Don Geiger will be doing the second half of his demo on bowl bottoms, inside and out. Don started this demo a few months back but we had some electrical malfunctions and equipment malfunctions and Don was not able to finish. If you turn bowls this demo is a MUST see. Even my wife who works in clay, not wood, said that she got a lot out of this demo. Doors open at about 6:00 pm and meeting starts at 7:00 pm.
This week Charles Watson and team are teaching woodturning to eleven 4H members. If you would like to help, please contact me and I will put you in touch with Charles. This event is this week only, starting at 9:00 am each day and ending in the afternoon.
This coming Saturday we will be having our annual open house and sale day. Come and do some turning, invite a friend and introduce them to woodturning. We will have several lathes set up for some demos, so you may want to bring some tools and a chunk of wood to turn.
The demo and sale day will be held at the Bell Community Center in Bell Fl. We will start at 9:00 am and go until about 3:00 or 4:00 depending on number of guests we have.
Paula Nicks has just received a fresh supply of CA glue and accelerators. She has thick, thin and medium. This will be available for sale at our meeting on Thursday.
I have been informed, by several members several times, that the chairs in the center are not very comfortable. I encourage you to bring a chair that is comfortable for you and use that instead of the folding chairs in the community center.
If you are interested in getting a discount from Hartville Tools please see Kent Harriss about the details.
Our yearly demo day sale has a date: Saturday, July 12. Please plan joining other club members for a great day of fun and turning. We will discuss the time and promotion for the demo day at the meeting.
Meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Thursday of each month starting at 7:00 PM at the Bell Community Center on Hwy 129 Bell, Florida. Pictured below. For further information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
